The Forget Me Not Society invites you to join us to celebrate the life of one of Britain's funniest comedian impressionists.

Born in Hyton, Lancashire, Freddie Starr was a much-loved comedian, impressionist, singer and actor. Having started his career as the lead singer of Merseybeat pop group, The Midniters, Freddie rose to prominence in the late 1960s and early '70s after appearing on Opportunity Knocks and in the Royal Variety Performance.

Many people will fondly remember Freddie's outrageous impersonations including Mick Jagger, Adolf Hitler in wellington boots as well as Elvis Presley and Ray Charles. His fame extended beyond comedy as Freddie also achieved chart success with his album 'After the laughter' and Top 10 hit single, 'It's You', in March 1974.

During the 1990s, Freddie starred in many television shows including The Freddie Starr Show and An Audience with Freddie Starr. Another Freddie 'fact' is that he also loved horse racing and was the proud owner of Miinnehoma, winner of the 1994 Grand National, ridden by Richard Dunwoody.

Freddie suffered with a heart condition for a number of years and sadly passed away at his home in Spain on 9th May 2019, aged 76.
