Calling all UK food entrepreneurs

A free 5-day taster programme for developing your entrepreneurial skills

If you are looking to start a new enterprise, innovate in your business or make changes in working practice to diversify you should attend this 5-day training programme as part of the Creating Entrepreneurs in Food (CEF) project.

The course will take place in a main campus of the GMIT in Galway, Ireland, in one of Galway City's iconic buildings.

This free 5-day taster course provides entrepreneurial training and development for those involved in the short food supply chains. The objective of the course is to provide the participants with the knowledge and work-based skills required to foster and develop their food ideas into successful businesses, encouraging participants to consider food entrepreneurship as a viable alternative to traditional employment.

You will work on plans from idea generation to packaging and finance. You will meet and network with successful food entrepreneurs: on a trip to the Aran Islands and a local farm, for example, and with participants from Ireland, Belgium and Poland on the programme in Galway itself.

At the end of 5 days you will present your business plan to a panel of experts and fellow students. You will have the confidence, skillsets and knowledge to progress your ideas supported by the Creating Entrepreneurs for Food network and online information hub.

The project is funded by the EU and led by Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, Ireland in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire in the UK, CEJA in Belgium and the Polish Beef Association, Poland. More information can be found here: http://www.creatingentrepreneursinfood.eu/

The course is free to attend and if you are a UK participant, your travel expenses can be reimbursed (up to £400 per person against the original receipts of your flight and accommodation) by the event organiser in the UK.

We will confirm your place after receiving your registration and successful candidates will be provided with further information regarding travel and accommodation.

Places are limited (Maximum 10 UK participants)  and will be allocated on the basis of first come - first served.

If you are a UK resident, please register your interest by pressing the 'Register' button.

For other EU participants, please contact Maria McDonagh in Ireland - Maria.McDonagh@gmit.ie - and register your interest with her, not via this eventbrite site.

You will receive a certificate on your completion of the course.

If you have any inquiry, please contact the training course organiser in GMIT:

Maria McDonagh, Maria.McDonagh@gmit.ie,
