About this event

These in-person workshops are open to anyone who has used mental health services, as well as their friends, families, carers, or staff. Led by acclaimed artists, the sessions are relaxed, creative, and open to all — no experience needed. They are part of a Hospital Rooms project to create permanent artworks for wards at Fieldhead and Kendray Hospitals, and the ideas, conversations and creativity shared in these workshops will help inspire the final artworks.

The workshop is free and all workshop materials will be provided. Please email Tim (tim.steer@hospital-rooms.com) for further information.

In-person Monoprinting & Collage Workshop at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Wednesday 20th August, 2:00-4:00pm

On Wednesday 20 August 2025, from 14:00–16:00, we invite you to take part in a hands‑on printmaking workshop led by artist Emma Hardaker. Emma is a Leeds‑based artist celebrated for her use of bright colours and abstract patterns, and she will guide you through accessible mono‑printing and collage techniques that emphasise experimentation and play.

Inspired by the sculptures in the park, this workshop invites you to take a closer look at the artworks that resonate with you. We'll begin with a short, guided exploration of YSP’s outdoor collection to gather sketches and visual ideas then return to the studio to create our monoprints.

No prior experience is needed and all materials will be provided. Whether you’re new to art-making or a practicing artist, this is an opportunity to slow down, look closely, and create together in a supportive environment.

This workshop is part of Hospital Rooms’ ongoing collaboration with South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to bring exceptional creative experiences into mental health settings and beyond.
