Health in Motion Osteopaths is offering a limited number of free video consultations in March 2021. Video consultations have proven to be an effective way of conducting an initial consultation for most medical conditions. Based on the information you provide and the movements we observe, our expert team of osteopaths will be able to diagnose your conditions and advise you on an approach to ease symptoms and restore your physical health. We can remotely differentiate the causes of back pain, be it muscle strain, injured disc, trapped nerves, or referred pain from other areas of the body.

The video consultation will result in the following;

1. Explanation of the most likely cause and how we have come to that conclusion.
2. Advice on how you can resolve your condition if treatment is not needed.
3. Information about our fees if you need our help. We will also advise how many appointments you may need, which will be confirmed once we have examined you at your first follow up appointment.
4. A booking to visit the clinic for a face to face follow up appointment if treatment is needed.
5. A schedule for follow-up video consultations if you are not able to attend face to face appointments.
6. Practical self care advice that will ease your symptoms (usually within 24 to 48 hours).
7. Written summary of the consultation that will be given to you at your first follow-up appointment.
8. If needed, we can also provide a private referral for imaging at a location convenient to you (x-ray, ultrasound, or MRI).

How to prepare for a Video Consultation

• Ensure you have a secure broadband connection
• If using tablet or phone - place it on a stand
• Test your video and audio before the appointment so that we can clearly see and hear you.
• You may be asked to dress down to a close fitting layer of clothing such as a vest and leggings or shorts. Make sure the material has stretch so you can move.
• Make sure you have privacy and cannot be distracted.
• You may have a chaperone attend the video appointment.
• Make sure there is sufficient space so we can observe your movement and you can stand away from the device if necessary.
