Pipistrelle at Dusk

Step into the twilight and tune into the secret natural world above our heads.

On Thursday 2 October at 6.45pm, local ecologist Dr Iain Boulton will lead a guided bat walk through Greendale and Dog Kennel Hill woods. Discover the fascinating world of bats as we explore their natural habitat under a starlit sky.

Armed with special bat detectors, you’ll hear the hidden chatter of London’s most common bat - the pipistrelles, as they swoop and flit through the night sky.

See familiar green spaces in a whole new light, learn surprising facts about urban wildlife, and share the thrill of spotting bats in flight.

This is a free walk but spaces are limited to 35 people, so booking is essential.

Meeting point is at 6.45pm by the noticeboard and picnic benches in Dog Kennel Hill Open Space. The walk will leave promptly.

Come along and let the pipistrelles guide your evening.

Organised by the Trees & Green Spaces group of SE5 Forum and The Camberwell Society.

Thanks also to Friends of Dog Kennel Hill Woods.

Dog Kennel Hill Woods is on Dog Kennel Hill, next to East Dulwich Sainsburys, SE5 8AY.

Buses 176, 185, 40, 42, P13, 484, 68 and 468. Train: East Dulwich or Denmark Hill stations.

NOTE:

Children are welcome to join accompanied by an adult.

In the event of bad weather, the organisers will advise cancellation via the email used for booking (bats don’t like heavy rain!).
