Join us on Saturday 18 Oct 2025 at the Artizan Street Library & Community Centre to learn how to fix and repair bikes - for FREE!
As part of International Repair Day, the City of London's Recycling Team are joining forces with Westminster Wheels to host a bike repair workshop.
Suppose you want to know how to keep a bike in good working order. Learn how to set up a bike to fit, fix a puncture, adjust brakes/ gears and lubricate your chain correctly. This workshop is for you.
Over the course of the day, you will learn how to fix up your bike and gain hands on experience so you know what to do next time you get a flat tyre or how to replace your brake pads.
You will also leave with your very own repair kit and bike pump.
Essential - you will need to bring along a bike to practice on (whether it needs fixing or not!)
This full-day workshop is designed for cyclists looking to learn about their bikes and be able to do basic roadside repairs:
- Bike health and saftety check
- Rear wheel removal + practice
- Tyre and tube removal
- Puncture repair + practice ( repair kit, tyre levers and pump supplied free to take home)
- Brake service/cable replacement + practice.
- Gear service/cable replacement + practice (Cables supplied)
- Maintenance tips
Please bring along food, as this workshop covers the lunch period.
Accessibility: Artizan Street Library & Community Centre has step free access and a disabled toilet.
About Westminster Wheels
Westminster Wheels is a charitable bike shop based in Westminster. Alongside selling their range of accesories, they also offer a full menu of bike services, affordable refurbished bikes and inner tube recycling.
"Our number one “product” is training previously unemployed Westminster Residents. These trainee mechanics gain an industry-recognised certificate in bicycle repair and benefit from a 6-month placement working at Westminster Wheels. That puncture repair we sorted for you! The brakes made safe! An apprentice most likely honed their skills under supervision on your bike. Before their time with us ends we polish their CVs and put them in front of prospective employers."
This event is being hosted by the City of London Corporation's Recycling Team for International Repair Day 2025.
