FREE Bistro Evening Stroll - Tuesday 28th Oct
Stroll from the Bistro, at the Sands Centre, for a walk through Bitts Park at sunset. This is a special evening walk.
Join us for a free walk linked with the reopened Riverside Café, the Sands Centre, into Bitts Park. This is the first evening walk where we start at 5pm and will finish after the sun sets. This is a great opportunity to walk as a group after work or at early night safely.
Starting and finishing inside the Sands Centre just past the Riverside Café on right hand side in the Bistro area next to the rear doors.
There is plenty of paid parking at the Sands Centre or next door at the Swifts or one hour free parking at the Corporation Road area through Hardwicke Circus underpass. There is plenty of facilities at the Sands Centre and the reopened Riverside Café has fresh varying options for drinks and refreshments available to purchase.
This walk will exit the Sands Centre directly onto the Hadrians Wall path before heading into the Bitts Park for about 1.4miles or 2.3km for about fifty minutes of walking. We will see the lovely Carlisle Castle, follow the River Eden, walk the path of Romans and see the park.
Meet us in the Bistro area at the rear of the Sands Centre ready for an exciting evening stroll. We will hopefully see the sunset and have the option of trying out the best evening walking tools. Whether that’s handheld torches, highly reflective hats, headlights or others. Feel free to bring your own. It’s a great chance to find out what works best for you before investing!
