Build Confidence. Learn Practical Skills. Make a Difference.

Join us for a lively, practical, and interactive in-person workshop designed to help you feel confident and prepared to step in safely and effectively when someone needs support.

This session is open to frontline workers, council officers, food bank volunteers, and community members, and is especially welcoming to victims and survivors of gender-based violence, as well as allies who want to better support others.

The workshop is trauma-informed, inclusive, and grounded in real-life scenarios, offering simple and effective tools you can use in everyday situations.

During this engaging session, you will:

  • Learn the 5 D’s of Bystander Intervention – practical, adaptable strategies to intervene safely while prioritising wellbeing
  • Explore the impact of microaggressions – understanding how subtle behaviours cause harm and how to respond with confidence
  • Increase awareness of unconscious bias – recognising the biases we all carry and learning ways to reduce their impact
  • Build skills to support survivors and those at risk – with an emphasis on safety, choice, and empowerment

This workshop centres care, safety, and empowerment — for those who have experienced harm and for those who want to be part of the solution.

rio-based activities, and a supportive learning environment where you can practise your skills and build confidence. You'll leave the session feeling more empowered, informed, and ready to play an active role in creating safer, more inclusive communities.
