Learn how to make a willow lantern in one of our free workshops and then join us for a lantern parade in the city.

About this Event

A series of three lantern parades will take place in the city to celebrate the switching on of the Christmas lights and the start of the city's festive season. Families in Exeter will be invited to sign up for one of the three free lantern making workshops led by professional artists from the city. The children will then carry their very own willow lantern in one of the 3 celebratory parades taking place in the city this November.

SATURDAY 9TH NOVEMBER - EXETER LIBRARY - ROUGEMONT ROOM

Workshop timing 10am-2pm. Please book a 40min slot from the below:

10-10.40am - 8 participants max

10.40-11.20am - 8 participants max

11.20-12.00noon - 8 participants max

12.40-1.20pm- 8 participants max

1.20-2pm - 8 participants max

Please email your time slot to marina@inexeter.com after registering

Families will then be invited to bring their lantern to parade as part of South & North Street Sings on Wednesday 13th november at 5:30pm to be the official Christmas lights switch on!

Leave your finished lantern with us at the end of the workshop, collect it again at the start of the parade on Wednesday and then take it home at the end.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
