Description

Code Clubs and the Raspberry Pi Foundation help to prepare young people for life and work in a world that is increasingly shaped by digital technologies. The aim is to inspire the next generation to get excited about computing and to equip them with the knowledge and confidence to be digital makers, not just consumers.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation was established in 2008 as a UK-based charity with the purpose to “further the advancement of education of adults and children, particularly in the field of computers, computer science and related subjects”.

STEM Clubs are a powerful and enjoyable way to engage young people with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.

They ignite an interest in STEM subjects and provide a platform to extend young people’s learning, allowing them to experiment, ask questions and tackle challenges that interest them. Most importantly, they are fun and exciting, allowing all involved to explore STEM subjects in innovative and inventive ways outside the curriculum.

Research shows that STEM Clubs can have significant and measurable positive impacts on students, teachers and other leaders, and the schools or colleges themselves. This report summarises key findings from evaluation and research so far, along with pinpointing areas for future work.
