David Tross, Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck leads this workshop for Community Development professionals, exploring some key aspects of Community Development projects and initiatives, including:
- understanding community needs
- mapping assets
- designing clear objectives
- gaining local support from residents and other key stakeholders
The session will also explore effective communication of your idea to different audiences and some fundraising tips.
David Tross has taught and coordinated courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level at Birkbeck for 5 years, including Community Development and Public Policy, Career and Professional Development, Introduction to HE and the UK Voluntary and Community Sector. He is also a research student in the school focusing on happiness and wellbeing in the UK.
