Tuesday 3rd September, 6pm-9pm: Community Leadership Styles and Skills

What does it mean to be a community leader or take on a leadership role in a community project? This session will focus on the different skills, styles and ideas of leadership and how these link to community settings, for example in building relationships and understanding local needs. Participants will be able to reflect on their own practice and styles and how to be more effective leaders.

Tuesday 17th September, 6pm-9pm: Community Engagement

This session will explore ways to engage local residents in your project. Recruiting volunteers and getting people interested and involved will be explored, as well as developing effective communications to get key individuals and Service Providers on board.

Tuesday 24th September, 6pm-9pm: Wellbeing, Resilience and Health

Policy makers and service providers often talk about building local wellbeing and resilience, but what does this mean in practice? We will explore the latest research about increasing personal and community wellbeing and look at some case studies to help reflect how your project fits with this popular agenda. Specific issues relevant to Newham will be addressed.
