Chakardar presents a heartfelt tribute to their Guru, the late Bhai Gurmit Singh Virdee. Led by his foremost disciples, Harkirat Singh and Sukhdeep Singh, the performance will feature a powerful tabla ensemble set in Teental, the traditional 16-beat rhythmic cycle. They will be accompanied on stage by four of their most accomplished students, representing the next generation of Gurmit Singh’s legacy.
In a deeply moving gesture, the presentation will also incorporate archival recordings of Bhai Gurmit Singh himself, allowing his voice and teachings to resonate once more. This unique blend of live performance and historical audio will not only honour the Guru’s immense influence but also rekindle the inspiration he instilled in thousands to learn tabla and explore the rich tradition of Indian classical music.
