About this event
Building Safety Bill: Some of the biggest changes to construction legislation since 1984 are on their way
The Building Safety Bill creates a Building Safety Regulator with new statutory roles for designers and contractors. It creates an entirely new and more rigorous regime for prescribed classes of buildings with new planning and building control gateways and a statutory ‘golden thread’ of information. The Bill will strengthen the building control system with the new Regulator taking responsibility for professional standards for building control surveyors. Everyone needs to understand the Bill as it will change the way that buildings are certified impacting on programme, occupation and ultimately cost.
Speaker: Stephen Barnshaw
Residential Fire Safety
In this session, we look at the current standards for means of escape in dwellings and the spirit of these standards with an eye on how we occupy buildings. This interactive session will question the current standards and suggest alternative approaches
Speaker: Andrew Crooks
Update to the Building Regulations
New and revised Approved Documents come into play from the 15th June 2022. These include revised Part F (Ventilation) and Part L (Energy Conservation) as well as a new Part O (overheating) and Part S (electric vehicle infrastructure).
