Description

FREE Work Group from Surrey Plus Maths Hub and the Advanced Maths Support Programme. Following the challenges of the new A-Level, this Work Group is for A-level Maths teachers to explore the demands of teaching the linear specifications for A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.

1 teacher from each participating school will form the Work Group and will develop knowledge of the new content, requirements and the purpose of the overarching themes of the new specification. The programme will also include lesson planning and embedding into the SOW.

The programme will consist of 3 sessions all 10am - 4pm .

  • Session 1: 24 October 2019

  • Session 2: 6 February 2020

  • Session 3: 11 June 2020

1 teacher from school is expected to attend all 3 sessions and to complete gap tasks between sessions and an evaluation.

Our Work Group lead is Dawn Denyer (MA Maths Ed, NCETM Secondary PD), Director of Maths and Assistant Headteacher at St Wilfrid's Catholic School, Crawley.

All attendees are required to provide an NCETM User Name. If you haven't already, please obtain one by visiting NCETM Join

NB. As with all our Free or Funded Maths Hub Work Groups and programmes, we are funded by the Department for Education and therefore have to prioritise State Funded schools. If spaces are still available we are able to offer these to Independent schools, however we will need to charge fees and these will be advised separately.
