Not tried your hand at DJing or making electronic music before? or have some experience and want to get to the next level?
Well now is your chance in a FREE, friendly and supportive group session with the help and expertise of local DJ / music producer Rob Pearson. DJing and making beats can be fun to try as a hobby, and if you ever want to go further it can even lead to a career in the music industry!
On the day we will have the decks ready for you to spin the platters, play songs and even try out some scratching and turntable tricks. We will show you how DJ equipment is set up and what is needed to start your own music production journey using fun and FREE DJ and music making apps. We will have Pioneer CD Decks, a selection of music making hardware and the latest Traktor Pro software all set up for you to try.
In this FREE workshop for Young People aged 7 to 11 we will cover some of the following:-
Beat Matching
Cueing
Basic Scratching
Looping
Programming Beats
Remixing & Jamming with Loops

For Young People aged 7 to 11 years
Participants aged 7 or 8 to be accompanioed by Parent / Guradian or older siblings during the session.
Parents / guardians of older children are also welcomed to stay for the session.

With all sessions there is an emphasis on 'no right or wrong' and no previous musical experience is necessary. Rob will be on hand to assist your musical journey and let your creativity shine through.
You will be able to choose what equipment and techniques that you would like to try and won’t be put on the spot to perform in front of others. Our staff hold an advanced DBS certificate (formerly known as a CRB check) for working with young people.

The Doncaster Remake Learning Days Festival is taking place over 10 days including the May half term, right across Doncaster, offering free and low cost, family-friendly activities and events designed to build knowledge and spark creativity.
