About this event

Sports & Fitness • Cycling

Give your bike some love! The bike mechanic will carry out free minor repairs such as repairing punctures, adjusting brakes and gears, fitting brake blocks and replacing cables. Dr Bike can also provide advice on potential problems and general cycle maintenance.

Mechanics will be at Lyde Green Community Centre on Tuesday 9 September as part of the Sustainable Travel Roadshow event for the community. Book a slot here to guarantee availability. Please do not book more than 2 slots. This means that more people will be able to benefit from the Dr Bike sessions.

Avon & Somerset Police are attending to security mark bikes for free and add them to the ever-growing Bike Register Database. Bike marking takes only 5 minutes and could help return your bike to its rightful owner should it ever go missing.

The WEST sustainable roadshow team will be there to answer your questions about travelling in the local area by cycling, walking, bus, train and car-sharing. They’ll be handing out lots of travel information including cycle and public transport maps of the local area as well as lots of other goodies.

Enterprise will also be there to demonstrate how their Car Club works and how easy it is to join, book, access and return a car club vehicle. Lyde Green residents have a special offer to join and Enterprise will gladly help sign anyone up on the day and answer any questions you may have.

The council's cost of living team will be providing information and advice about all the support with food available in the area, including free school meals, activities and food programme as well as lots of freebies. They will be able to provide advice and information to help with rising costs of living including tips to reduce the energy you use and help save money.
