Free Evening Wellbeing in Nature Sessions (Welcombe Hills)
Date and time
Fancy reaping the benefits of nature and the outdoors on a nice summer evening? Then why not join our Wellbeing in Nature sessions.
About this event
Spend two hours a week outside with our Health and Wellbeing Officer Dan, exploring Welcombe Hills and Clopton Park in Stratford whilst learning ways to use nature to nurture your health and wellbeing. The sessions are based around the five ways to wellbeing. See below for the expected outline of each session. Join us as and when you're free, you don't have to attend all of them.
Session 1, 07/06: 'Connect' through some land art, socialising with the group, mindfulness activity and walk.
Session 2, 14/06: 'Notice' what's on the reserve and learn to take macro photos.
Session 3, 21/06: 'Give' back to the reserve through hands-on or wildlife survey work.
Session 4, 28/06: 'Learn something new' doing some woodland crafting and make something to take home.
Session 5, 05/07: 'Get active' during a longer walk with mindful moments.
We're really pleased to offer these sessions for free as part of the Wilder Wellbeing project thanks to funding through Warwickshire County Council's Mental Health Resilience Fund.
Know before you book:
Please note these sessions are for adults (18+) only.
Mobility:
Due to the natural landscape of the site, there are areas where the paths are uneven, hilly and potentially slippery. We’ll also be walking around for the majority of the sessions. With this being said, it would be much appreciated if you could let Dan know if you have any access requirements, mobility issues or health conditions that will help him accommodate as best as he can for your time on the session. If you need more information on this then do let him know.
What to bring:
Suitable clothing for the weather, sturdy footwear, insect repellent, sun screen and any food / drink you may want to bring.
Meeting spot:
Meeting spot and free on street parking is on Dingles Way. Click on the link below to locate it on Google Maps or use the what3words app and type in the combination below. If you need more help finding it then do let Dan know.
