with Kyle Kirkpatrick
Suitable for 6 to 12 years
Young Pioneers will explore early forms of artificial intelligence as inspiration for your very own lace-designs. You will look, draw, trace, copy, repeat and print onto paper, fabric and t-shirts to make wearable artworks.
These workshops are for families, and we ask that guardians stay on site at the Arts Centre during the duration of the workshop.

Our Young Pioneers free family workshops deliver exciting opportunities for young creatives aged 6 – 12 yrs and their carers, to participate in fun, family friendly and educational activities together. Each participant will emerge from a workshop with their own and or family made artwork, to take home for reflection, or to share with friends. Inspiration and themes for Young Pioneers workshops are extracted from our core exhibition programme with the aim to engage children and young people with artists; together exploring contemporary art and practice while gaining significant creative and cultural skills.
With Saturdays led by different artists, the workshops explore many medias, and work along the themes of the current exhibition, with a focus on developing and exploring:
Sharing and collaboration
The extended use of materials
The development of ideas
