Course information

This FREE First Aid training course is available for anyone who lives in Birmingham and cares for a family member or loved one who is elderly, frail and/ or mentally or physically disabled.

Sadly, older people and those with special needs can be particularly vulnerable to accidents and injuries. This course is for carers and parent carers who want to learn what to do in the event of an accident or emergency.

During this three hour course, you will learn a range of practical skills for how to deal with injuries and illness, from treating a minor fall to a major head injury and what to do if someone has a fit. You will also learn the technical skills and confidence to perform CPR.

What are my transport options?

63 and 76 stop between Selly Oak train station and the Touchbase Pears building.
X61, X64 and 11 stop just up the road by Sainsburys.

Car Parking:
There is a secure public car park (off Elliot Road) conected to TouchBase Pears.

Travel by Rail:

Selly Oak Train Station is approximately 5 minutes’ walk away TouchBase Pears .There are connections on the cross city line from Lichfield to Redditch. TouchBase is to the left of the station when you exit on the Bristol Road.

Travel by Metro:

Services operate into Birmingham Snow Hill. Followed by a bus to from Colmore Row (63, x61, x64).
