About this event
Whether you never learned as a child or you’ve avoided the water for years, this welcoming class is for complete beginners. With just three learners per class, you’ll get personalised coaching, plenty of encouragement, and time to practise at your pace.
You’ll learn to:
- Relax in the water and build water confidence
- Float (front & back) and recover safely
- Breath control: face in water, exhale, timing
- Propulsion basics: kicking and arm actions
- Begin front crawl and backstroke foundations
- Safe pool entry/exit and water safety basics
Class format
- Group size: Max 3 adults
- Length: 30 minutes in the water
- Level: True beginner / nervous swimmer friendly
- Structured lesson plan tailored to the group
- Buoyancy aids & training kit provided (floats, noodles, kickboards)
- Post-class tips to practise between sessions
Who it’s for
- Adults who cannot yet swim or are very nervous in water
- Adults who can stand in shallow water but cannot comfortably float or swim a length
- Not suitable for strong swimmers
What to bring
- Swimwear, towel, flip-flops
- Swim cap (recommended for hygiene)
- Goggles
- Water bottle
Safety & supervision
- Qualified, insured instructor in the water
- Ratio 1:3 (instructor:swimmers)
- You must follow venue pool rules and instructor instructions
- Please do not attend if unwell (incl. tummy bugs in last 48 hrs)
