FREE Forum on the Farm for South Somerset Voluntary and Community Groups
Mon 24 April 2017, 10:00 – 12:00 BST
We hope you can join us for our forum with a difference, it's being held at Stokehill Farm, so bring your wellies (hopefully we won't need waterproofs!)
The farm is used as a resource for learning and wellbeing at all life stages. A farm walk during the forum, led by Stokehill's founder Debbie Hicks, will provide a great opportunity for everyone to share ideas about how and why different groups can benefit from 'green space' experiences.
We'll also be joined by Jolyon Chesworth, Nature and Wellbeing Manager at Somerset Wildlife Trust. With worrying increases in reported physical and mental health issues, and ever more stress on health and social care budgets, there is developing recognition and evidence that the spending time in the natural environment can be a low cost and beneficial way of both maintaining and improving health and wellbeing. Jolyon will outline the current health and wellbeing trends and provide evidence of the role that the natural environment can play in supporting our health and social care services.
With plenty of fresh air and networking thrown in too, this will be a forum not to be missed!
