Do you look for food to make yourself feel better when upset or sad?

Have you tried to lose weight only to have regained it a few months later?

Join the next Mindfulness 8-week course for Emotional Eating, starting on 8th May 2018, in Lymington.

I am running this Mindfulness course for Emotional Eating as part of my MSc research dissertation in Mindfulness-Based Interventions at the University of Exeter. Participation in this research will be anonymous and will consist in responding to questionnaires at the beginning and the end of the programme (approx. 10 minutes).

This 8-week programme can help you make a radical shift in your relationships with food, eating, and your body.

What you’ll get from participating in the programme:

- Mindfulness skills so you can learn to step out of the habitual automatic patterns of mind that make you turn to emotional eating as a way to comfort yourself in the midst of stressful times.

- Nutrition advice (we will have the input of a highly qualified nutritionist that will give you info not on yet another diet but for understanding how to use food for a healthier body).

- Increase your awareness into eating (you will learn to eat based on hunger cues instead of emotional and environmental cues).

- The opportunity to have a better relationship with food and your body.

This programme integrates mindfulness practices, mindful movement, cognitive interventions with the science behind stress and eating habits. It is not yet another weight loss programme.

Course structure: 8 weekly, 2- 2.5 hrs sessions, on Tuesday evenings (6.30-9pm), starting on 8th May 2018.

LOCATION: Macdonald Elmers Court & Resort; South Baddesley Road, Lymington, SO41 5ZB, Beaulieu Room.

Recommended donation: £ 80 before 25th April, £100 thereafter - highly appreciated, it will help to cover the venue costs, orientation phone call, 8 sessions, the handbook and CDs with recorded mindfulness practices, and support between sessions if required.

No previous mindfulness experience is needed. Regular class attendance and a commitment of 15-30 minutes of practice per day for the entire duration of the course are recommended.
