This course funding is for the Scottish residents and eligible candidates only.

Course Overview:

The CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) certification verifies that successful candidates have the knowledge and skills required to leverage intelligence and threat detection techniques, analyse and interpret data, identify and address vulnerabilities, suggest preventative measures, and effectively respond to and recover from incidents.

Cybersecurity Analysts are the guardian and in another word they are the real protector of businesses/companies/organisations network these days. This qualification focuses on the individual’s capability to not only proactively capture, monitor, and respond to network traffic findings, but also accentuates software and application security, automation, threat hunting, and IT regulatory compliance, which affects the daily work of security analysts. They perform many duties that include analysing data to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to an organisation. They are also responsible of configuring and tuning threat-detection tools and secure applications & systems within an organisation.

SQA Framework:

CompTIA CYSA + Course has been organised in conjunction with the PDA Cyber Security at SCQF Level 8 so the Learners will have an opportunity to earn 32 SQA credit points & received a certificate from Scottish Qualification Authority if successfully passed all relevant unit exams.

Course Objective:

This Intermediate level, vendor neutral course provides a solid foundation into Cyber Security for IT Professionals. Cybersecurity attacks continue to grow. Increasingly, more job roles are tasked with baseline security readiness and response to address today’s threats. Updates to Security+ reflect skills relevant to these job roles and prepare candidates to be more proactive in preventing the next attack.

Learners are expected to have the following in prior attending the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) course;

The Network+ or Security+ certification - or equivalent knowledge.

A minimum of 1- 4 years of hands-on information security or related experience.

There is no prerequisite required for CompTIA CySA certification exam, but the candidate should hold CompTIA Network+, Security+ or equivalent knowledge. It is recommended that learners have gained equivalent IT networking and information security knowledge and practical skills through several years of experience gained in information security.

Modes of Learning Available:

You have the option of undertaking this course via following learning modes:

1.) Face to Face Classroom based Learning: You will attend the class each week on the day and time mentioned above.

2.) Virtual Learning: Live traditional face to face class will broadcast to all virtual learners each week on a specified time.

3.) Blended Learning: Mixture of Face to face and Virtual learning (must inform when joining the course.

3.) ELearning: is self-paced, you will be completing the course in your own time and do not have to attend any traditional face to face classes or virtual.

Course Schedule:

Scheduled Start Date: Sunday, 25th of April 2021

Day : Every Sunday for 18 to 20 weeks

Time : 9:00am to 1:00pm.

SAAS Funding:

This part-time course is free for people who qualify for SAAS part-time funding grant and you will not need to pay this grant back to SAAS. For SAAS funding eligibility:

1. You have to be a resident of Scotland

2. Either employed and earning £25, 000 a year or less or can be unemployed as well

3. Have not used the SAAS funding in this Academic Year.
