The award winning gig events team at Loud in Libraries are inviting young people to BIRKENHEAD CENTRAL LIBRARY to perfect their snaps and find out what it tales to capture a live event.

The workshop is open to any young person who wants to learn how to take pic perfect live snaps. No experience necessary!

So what IS GILIL Academy?GILIL Academy is a free music outreach programme that offers young people the unique opportunity to gain an insight into the working music industry. Participants on the Discover workshop will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals, participate in music-making workshops with expert facilitators and learn more about future pathways into the music industry.

Do I need to know how to play the drums/rap/belt out a tune?Definitely not, in fact you don’t need any musical experience at all, just a passion for music! The Academy covers a broad range of music industry paths; from digital media, to beat-boxing. We don’t expect you to be a master of any of these- just open to trying a host of new skills that could benefit your future music industry career!

What’s this Arts Award?

Our Academy volunteers achieve so much we think it’s only fair that your hard work is recognised and for the day workshops we use the Discover Arts Award to do just that. But that’s our job- not yours-so you don’t need to worry about acing any tests, just turn up and enjoy the music!

What are the folk at the Academy like?

Young people at the Discover Academy Workshop will be a diverse group of music-lovers between 11-13 who want to be the next game-changers of the music industry!
