Aged 14-19 and love to sing?
Hackney based conductors Hannah Brine & Patrick Barrett are running a FREE singing workshop for young singers in Tower Hamlets this autumn! The workshops are part of Black History Month celebrations and are supported by Ingeenium, a creativity-centred charity based in London. The workshops are open to all young people and no previous experience is necessary.
Conductor Hannah Brine, who also runs community choir Victoria Park Singers, says: “We are looking for young people who are passionate or curious about singing. Maybe you can already sing or maybe you have always wanted to try. You are welcome whether you are shy but willing or you think you’re the next Beyonce or Frank Ocean.
I truly believe everyone can sing, and everyone can make a beautiful sound. Singing with others is fun and a great way to be creative, meet other people with shared goals and learn. I am very excited to meet young singers in the area and make some great music together.”
Both sessions will comprise of a high quality singing and vocal technique workshop followed by a short informal open performance for family and friends. In addition to performing material taught on the day, there will also be an opportunity for participants to showcase their talents by singing a pre-prepared solo.
Hannah & Patrick will be launching a weekly choir for young people in East London in January 2017.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 14-19 YEARS OLD ONLY. THANK YOU!
