Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Systems have commissioned Harmless to deliver a Suicide Bereavement CPD accredited course.
Please note: you must be working in/supporting people who reside in Hertfordshire & West Essex to qualify for a funded place on this course.
Suicide Bereavement training

Target Audience:
Frontline professionals and volunteers who are delivering services or support within the geographical boundaries of Hertfordshire and West Essex.
• School staff (pastoral/counsellors)
• Mental Health Support Teams in Schools
• Adult Social Care Staff (care providers, supported living service staff, social workers)
• Third sector organisations and charities
• NHS front line workers including – mental health workers, general practice staff (nurses and health care assistants).
• Frontline staff of Public Health commissioned services; including Sexual Health, Drug and Alcohol, Health Visitors and Health Improvement Service.
Learning Outcomes:
This course is designed to enable participants to effectively explore and understand the following:
- The magnitude of suicide bereavement
- Suicide loss as a unique form of complex bereavement
- 'Complicated grief', trauma, and other individual responses to suicide
- The wider impact of bereavement on those exposed to or affected by suicide
- The stigma and shame associated with suicide and bereavement
- Bereavement by suicide as a unique risk factor for suicide
- Have the confidence and skills to support someone who has been bereaved by suicide’
This training is delivered F2F
Once registered, you will receive an email of confirmation. Access details for the session will be sent a week before the training date.
We will provide all delegates with frequent breaks during the session to ensure that screen fatigue is kept to a minimum
