Event description

Description

Art Macabre, London's purveyors of theatrical life drawing events, invite you to explore the theme of movement and dance in your sketches. Taking inspiration from the iconic Bauhaus ballet designs of the 1920s, draw our surreally costumed dancer as they pose on stage for you.

The 'Triadic Ballet' became the most widely performed avant-garde artistic dances, also known as 'choreographed geometry'. A mixture of dynamic, slowly moving and still poses for you to create colourful and bold artworks. Sketch to the original soundtrack to this extraordinary dance designed by Oskar Schlemmer.

A unique sketching experience to take part in, sure to inspire some unusual artworks and shapes in your sketches and collages.

Drawing and collaging materials will be available to use, thanks to GreatArt. All ages welcome. This session is on a drop-in basis. Arrive during the advertised times and stay for as many poses as you like!

Art Macabre inject a lethal dose of curiosity into the art of mark making. They run regular drawing events at London's top galleries, museums, heritage sites, festivals and even cemeteries sometimes! They believe that everyone can enjoy putting pen to paper, given the right inspiration and an encouraging and imaginative environment. Their events have been featured in international publications, including BBC Radio2, Time Out and Evening Standard.
