These sessions will all be taking place at the same time, so please only sign up for 1 session.

Free Kimono Worskhop- women only

Where: Gorton Hub IT Suite

Led by the Dressmaking School of Meisei from Japan.

Expect an introduction to Japanese Kimono and have the opportunity to try them youself!

Free origami, calligraphy and yukata workshop

Where: Gorton Hub Peter Pan Room

Led by Chanoyu Crossing Cultures, a group who deliver Japanese culture workshops from Japan.

Expect an introduction to Japanese culture of calligraphy, Japanese tea and Kimono, and then an interactive workshop learning about origami, calligraphy and yukata.

Free Japanese Game workshop

Where: Gorton Hub Library

Led by the MUDADAN group from Japan.

Expect to learn some traditional Japanese interactive games and play together!

Free Ikebana Flower arranging workshop

Where: Gorton Hub atrium

Led by Shokasanmei group from Japan.

Expect to learn about the practice of Ikebana flower arrangement and see a live demonstration.

Expect an intro to Japanese tea, calligraphy and kimono, followed by the opportunity to take part in calligraphy workshop and see some kimonos.

Please arrive slightly early for your session to allow a prompt start.

Please bring your ticket with you and have it ready to be checked on arrival.
