Ever wanted to learn to fish but didn’t know where to start? Join us at one of our free, award-winning Let's Fish! events.

About this event

Learn to fish with our team of professionally qualified and licensed angling coaches. All bait, equipment, permits and licence are provided. All you need to do is book in and turn up on time on the day.

Booking information

Please book one time slot per person, ensuring that the ticket is in the correct name of the actual participant who intends to fish. Multiple bookings using the same participant name will not be accepted. On the day, you must arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your allocated start time.

Directions:

Who are these events for?

These one-hour sessions are available to all adults and for children aged from six years old and upwards who are interested in trying out a potential new hobby. Experience has taught us that these introductory events have typically proved absolutely brilliant for children between the ages of 7 and 15. Children under the age of six must not be booked . When we are not fully booked, we will allow walk-in participants and a paper consent form will need to be completed.

Cost of Event

This event is free for all participants who attend on the day. However, if you have booked on, subsequently fail to cancel and simply don’t show up on the day, you are liable to be invoiced for the standard £50.00 administration fee, chargeable for each ticket booked.

Therefore, if your circumstances do suddenly change and you find you are no longer able to attend, you must cancel using one of these three mechanisms:

• 1 The preferred method is via the Eventbrite ticket booking system using the link that you can find on your ticket. This can be found at the bottom of your ticket and has a link directly to “cancel my ticket”.

• 2 By email lets.fish@canalrivertrust.org.uk giving details of date, time, venue and participants in your email message. Don’t email if within than 48hours of the event, instead please use option 1 above or in an emergency 3 below.

• 3 In the event of an unforeseen emergency within 48 hours of the event, by telephoning the lead coach named in your final reminder email which will have been sent to you approximately 48 hours before the commencement of event.

We ask for your co-operation in this matter. This will allow others who would otherwise have regrettably missed out due to lack of space, the opportunity to attend this event.

Covid-19 Guidelines

If you have Covid-19 symptoms or if you have been told to self-isolate, you must not attend. Please cancel your ticket as set out above. For your safety, fishing equipment will be cleaned between sessions. Latest government guideless around Covid will apply to the Let’s Fish programme.

Commonwealth Games Regional Celebration events

We are holding around 20 events this year and there is sure to be one near you. You will need your own basic fishing equipment at these events. For more information speak to your allocated coach on the day or follow the link.

National Celebration of young people and fishing

Each year, we hold a national celebration event open to all keen young anglers including all Let’s Fish participants aged between 7 & 20. It’s an experience that any young person should try at least once in their fishing journey. Check out our website for information on the event which will be held on the 17th & 18th September 2022 in the Midlands.
