Free lunchtime lecture-recital: Duncan Honeybourne (piano)
Date and time
A lecture-recital by Duncan Honeybourne (piano)
About this event
Pianist Duncan Honeybourne presents a lecture-recital exploring repertoire by contemporary British composers. The recital will include the London premieres of two new works written for Duncan: Cecilia McDowall's Notes from Abroad and John Casken's Tempus Plangendi, plus John Joubert's recently rediscovered Rhapsody: Evocations, last heard almost 70 years ago.
“glittering performances from Duncan Honeybourne...it is not hard to hear why Joubert was drawn to his playing. The performances are fluent and powerful..." International Piano, 2019 (The Complete Solo Piano Music of John Joubert)
This concert is part of Piccadilly Piano Plus - a chamber music series at St James's Church Piccadilly, in which both established and emerging artists celebrate the many facets of the piano as a means of musical expression and education. If you are unable to attend in person, the performance will be livestreamed on the St James's Church YouTube channel.
