Welcome to the free tour of Manchester in English. This is a comprehensive and entertaining introduction to the city of Manchester. They are also a great way to meet new people. These tours are led by native Mancunions.

On this walking tour, we tell the story of Manchester. We share our famous characters, political movements and musical legends. It is an adventure through Manchester’s many terrains including hidden backstreets, opulent interiors, canal walkways and industrial infrastructure. We don’t just point and give facts - this tour is poignant, funny, poetic and political. Plus, our local guides will offer you insider tips and suggestions of what to do with your time in the city.

These tours are run on a tips-only basis. We believe everyone should be able to discover Manchester, no matter what their budget. We receive no financial subsidy or support. Visitors may pay what they think it is worth at the end of the tour. There is never any pressure to tip.

In our tours we talk about two different periods of Manchester's history: the industrial era, and the post-industrial 'Mad-chester' era. We take in the big attractions (Town Hall, Royal Exchange and Free Trade Hall) as well as the lesser known quirks (Vimto Monument, Underground Manchester and Factory Records).
