Free Manchester Walking Tours
Event Information
Description
Free Manchester Walking Tours are the most comprehensive and entertaining introduction to the city of Manchester (#1 Tour in Manchester, TripAdvisor). They are also a great way to meet new people. These tours tell the story of Manchester.
Free Manchester Walking Tours is an independent tour established by Josh. These tours are run on a tips-only basis. I believe everyone should be able to discover Manchester, no matter what their budget. I receive no financial subsidy or support. I ask that visitors pay what they think it is worth at the end of the tour, relative to their budget.

PLACES WE GO TO AND THINGS WE TALK ABOUT:
In our tours we talk about two different periods of Manchester's history: the industrial era, and the post-industrial 'Mad-chester' era. We take in the big attractions (Town Hall, Royal Exchange and Free Trade Hall) as well as the lesser known quirks (Vimto Monument, Underground Manchester and Factory Records).
ABOUT THE GUIDE:
My name is Josh and I graduated from the University of Manchester four years ago. I specialised in urban soundscapes, specifically within industrial and post-industrial Manchester. I am from Greater Manchester and I live in Hulme. I otherwise work freelance as a writer in theatre. I started these tours because I wanted to share how there is so much more to Manchester than people expect.
