Join House of Comms for a monthly netwalk, without pressure or price tag!
This guided walk will start opposite The Railway Pub on Station Road, located next to Marsden Train Station and Standedge Car Park.
We'll head through Marsden village and onto Marsden Moor via a steep permissive footpath, beyond which the remaining walk is gentle and mostly flat. We'll follow the path across Marsden Moor then drop down onto the Pennine Way for our return leg of the loop, passing Wessenden Reservoir, Blakeley Reservoir, and Butterley Reservoir.
Start time and location: 09:30am opposite The Railway Pub, Marsden (HD7 6DH)
Distance: 10.5km
Duration: up to 3 hours
Marsden is accessible via train from Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield.
Parking is available at Standedge Car Park (HD7 6AJ) and the first two hours are free.
Please dress appropriately in walking boots/trail shoes and layers. We recommend packing a waterproof regardless of the weather forecast as the moors are very exposed. You will need to carry your own water and snacks or packed lunch. If the weather is good, we'll stop to eat along the way, otherwise there are cafes in Marsden to enjoy afterwards.
You do not need walking experience to enjoy this route but if you have any concerns please get in touch!
