FREE Obesity Conference: Obesity, Weight Management and Lifestyle
Mon 21 November 2016, 08:45 – 16:00 GMT
Overweight and obesity are major risk factors for a number of chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Once considered a problem only in high income countries, overweight and obesity are now dramatically on the rise in low and middle-income countries, particularly in urban settings. (WHO 2016).
While there is a need for a comprehensive and multisector approach to obesity prevention including addressing the commercial, environmental and social policy drivers, healthcare for affected individuals with these elevated health risks continues to gather pace.
This one-day conference seeks to explore current and developing thinking regarding managing obesity and its complications in our current health care climate. The day will be of interest to a wide range of health related practitioners working and supporting people living with obesity.
*The conference will also link to the new module: Obesity, Weight Management and Life Style due to commence January 2017
