About this event

This free open reading session will be held in a private room at Streatham Library.

Join us in a friendly atmosphere for a chance to read aloud your written work—short stories, excerpts from your novel, poetry, or any other fiction or non-fiction. Each reading will be followed by constructive feedback and thoughts from fellow attendees.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” — Maya Angelou

Pens With Intention is on a mission to create a space for those untold stories to be shared and celebrated. This session is an excellent opportunity for self-expression, to receive feedback on your work and to learn where you can improve. Each reading will have a time limit of up to five minutes.

Please note:

  • There is no option to share writing on a screen during the event.
  • This is an in-person only event (not hybrid).

If you would like to read your work, simply attend and volunteer on the day. We will do our best to accommodate as many readings as possible. You are also welcome to attend just to listen and provide constructive feedback.

This session is hosted by Pens With Intention in partnership with Streatham Library.
