What’s Happening?
Chancellor Mitchell sent out a memorandum on 9/25/2025, censoring freedom of speech on campus by banning the discussion of gender in Texas Tech classrooms. This policy threatens our First Amendment rights and does not reflect the values of our campus. We’re starting a letter-writing campaign to urge Chancellor Mitchell to overturn this oppressive policy.
What Can I Do?
Make your voice heard and join our campaign. Write a letter to the Chancellor explaining why this policy should be overturned- you can discuss the negative effects the policy has on your education, share a personal story, or make a legal or ethical argument. Our goal is to flood the office with letters and get the policy overturned as soon as possible.
