About this event

Free Developing Times Tables in Years 2-5 Work Group

This Work Group looks at the conceptual teaching of multiplication to meet the demands of the Y4 time tables test and SATs.

This 4 session Work Group is aimed at teachers from Years 2-5. It would be particularly beneficial for Newly Qualified and Recently Qualified Teachers. There should be two participants from each school to allow for school-based discussion between workshops.

This Work Group aims to develop understanding of how to effectively plan for times tables, including progression of times table facts to explicitly develop links in learning.  The Work Group will include development of models and images/representations linked to multiplicative reasoning and effective test strategies informed by research of interleaving and spaced retrieval.  Ultimately the goal is for participants to develop their subject and pedagogical knowledge in embedding multiplication facts, and the impact this has on pupils.

4 Sessions will take place online via Zoom, 2pm- 5pm
