Description

Free Training: 'Developing Digital Citizenship and Wellbeing in Primary Schools'

The Vale of Glamorgan Children and Young People's partnership and WISE KIDS are inviting up to 3 teachers from primary schools in the Vale of Glamorgan to participate in a 1 day interactive WISE KIDS training workshop on 'Developing Digital Citizenship and Wellbeing in Primary Schools'. It will be delivered by Dr Sangeet Bhullar from WISE KIDS.

The workshop aims to provide teachers with insights into new technologies and pedagogies and the potential of these for developing your pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding of the digital world and their role in it. It will use a pupil-centred approach to exploring online safety and explore the most effective ways to help children navigate digital environments and become effective, creative and responsible digital citizens.

Teachers will gain practical insights into how best to promote a whole-school culture of ‘digital citizenship’, kindness and wellbeing which embraces positive values and behaviour. This will include practical ideas for effective parental engagement on these themes.

The workshop will feature ‘live-blogging’ so teachers can gain practical insights into how such tools can be used for reflective practice. All attendees will also gain access to a specially created Google site with links to further resources.
