Meet the Panel:


Ruth Stephens is passionate about seeing churches become welcoming environments where those who have experienced adversity feel safe to connect to each other and to God. She holds an MSc in Attachment Psychology and is a qualified Occupational Therapist with many years experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma. Alongside this she has a wealth of church leadership experience including leading children's ministry.


Dr Tory Barrow is a specialist in Attachment and Trauma. She holds a PhD in psychology, an MSC in Attachment Studies, and British Psychological Society accredited MSC in Psychology. She is trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Therapeutic Life Story Work, Play Therapy, Non Violent Resistance therapy (NVR) and Video Interactive Guidance (VIG). Tory is trained and qualified in assessments of attachment both for therapeutic and forensic use. She is also an experienced conference speaker and trainer

After spending 30 years being mum to a large family including 6 adopted children, she is passionate about seeing children and families not just survive, but thrive.


Helen Fearn, founder of Trauma Aware Care, began her career as a primary school teacher and SENDCO before becoming a foster carer and adopter and retraining firstly to support her own family but this training led to supporting others and over time the development of Trauma Aware Care - therapeutic training organisation. Trauma Aware Care offers 1-2-1 support, group and whole organisation training, consultancy and coaching, delving into both theory and practical tools to empower you when working with children and young people affected by trauma.
