This gentle ride will be approximately 45minutes to 1hour for 5-6miles from the Holme Head Bay and along National Cycle Path to Dalston.
Meet us at the bottom of Denton Street at the free car park next to the bridge. There is free car parking available at the car park or on local roads. Riding along the scenic river path you will reach Dalston and have the chance for refreshments at Kitchen Cafe before returning once again.
These short easy and gentle rides are suitable for all. They are a great opportunity to meet and chat with people with similar interests and increase your cycling confidence.
To help keep everyone safe we have introduced some ground rules:
- Participants must be able to ride a bike.
- If children are attending they must be supervised by a responsible adult.
- Your bike must be safe and suitable to ride.
- Helmets must be worn when riding.
- If you plan to join us for refreshments bring a bike lock to keep it safe.
- E-Bikes are welcome but must not exceed the pace of the ride leader.
- Booking is essential and limited to 8 places.
Join us for any of our new and free led rides scheduled:
1. Bitts Park and Stoneyholme bike ride
Dates and times: Wednesdays 13th August 10.30-12 midday & Wednesday 17th September 10.30-12 midday.
Ride length: Approx 45mins or 5-6miles.
About the ride: This ride will start at the Sands Centre and go through Swifts Nature Reserve to Melbourne Park, where we might be lucky enough see some wonderful wildlife, before returning to the start point. At the end of the ride, for those who want to, we will stop at Tribe for a coffee.
- Harraby Bike Ride
Dates and times: Thursday 21st August 10.30am-12 midday & Thursday 25th September 2-3.30pm.
Ride length: Approx 30mins or 3-4 miles.
About the ride: Starting at Harraby Community Centre we will head over to the Parkland area and do some local sightseeing before returning to the Centre for a coffee and chat.
3. Morton Bike ride.
Dates and times: Tuesday 26th August 2-3.30pm & Monday 29th September 10-11.30am.
Ride length: Approx. 30 mins or 3-4 miles.
About the ride: Starting at Morton Manor we will, go through Chances Park and explore the local area before heading back to the Manor for a coffee and catch up. Stopping and playing at the playpark is optional
4. The River Path Ride
Dates and times: Monday 1st September 10-12 midday & Tuesday 7th October 2-4pm.
Ride length: Approx. 45min to 1hour or 5-6 miles.
About the ride: Starting at Holme Head Bay in Denton Holme we will gently follow the river path, taking in the beautiful scenery and wildlife, to Dalston where we will stop for refreshments before heading back.
