Description

Wednesday 2nd May 2018, 9.00 GMT, 4.00 EST, 3.00 CST

In this webinar, we will be discussing a Serious Case Review from Nottingham involving the death of a 7 year old girl, known as Child J.

Child J was found dead at the home where she lived with her Aunt under a Special Guardianship Order (SGO). The coroner found that in the two years prior to death, she was the victim of sustained serious physical and emotional abuse. The coroner also concluded that during the 48 hours before she died, Child J was subjected to horrific violence resulting in multiple internal and external injuries and died as a result of an injury to her brain caused by blunt trauma which, on a balance of probabilities, was an inflicted non-accidental injury.

Our session will look at the recommendations made to the various agencies involved, and how we can use this learning to improve working with families and young people.
