There's one thing most of us can probably source easily, and that's cardboard! We often encounter cardboard in the post, and it's been especially prevalent during the pandemic when many of us have been stuck at home receiving parcels. Yet although cardboard is a really useful, available material, it often gets dumped in the recycling bin or goes to waste. So in this workshop, we'll be using cardboard to create our own prints. We'll learn different carving techniques and basic printmaking processes, and finish the day with a small edition of prints. We'll each make enough so that everyone else can get posted home (or collect) one of everyone else's work so you'll leave the workshop with a new set of cardboard prints. After printing, if time, we will make our own cardboard "plates" into a collage or painting to display.
Each participant to bring a few options of cardboard to work from as well as some resource images.
We understand there are many reasons people may not be able to attend in person events or plans may change. Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend as there are limited spaces and we would love to invite someone else to benefit from this free workshop. The workshops have a capacity of six and the Fish Factory Arts will have safety precautions in place to minimise the risk of Covid-19 and will be following government guidelines.
This workshop is open to everyone of all ages!
