Iona Fyfe, has become one of Scotland’s finest young folk singers, rooted deeply in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland. The first singer to win the coveted title of Musician of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2021, Iona has been described as “one of the best Scotland has to offer.” (Global-Music.de). Iona is a fierce advocate for the official recognition of the Doric and Scots Language, winning the title of Scots Speaker of the Year at the Scots Language Awards.
Iona has delivered lectures, talks, workshops and masterclasses in informal environments, festivals and University settings in the UK, Canada, Germany, the USA and Australia. The group singing workshop is free and open to all. Resources will be provided.
Iona will also be performing at the Harbour Stage on Saturday 28th June at 12:30pm.
