Free Seeing at Grand Central Station - Francis Lowe
Saturday 26 September, 12pm
Cherry Red's Café Bar, 88-90 John Bright Street B1 1BN
Francis Lowe is the creator of Free Seeing; essentially a riff on Free Running, or Parkour, which involves a playful visual interpretation of our surroundings. Francis' work as an animator sets the scene for Free Seeing as it will be demonstrated through the streets of central Birmingham, starting with the Hall of Mirrors - the reflective cladding of New Street Station and Grand Central. Francis leads a walk through city spaces that introduces the practice and purpose of Free Seeing and explains how you may already be an adept Free Seeing player. Folding chairs and yoga mats will be provided.
The walk takes place in an urban environment and appropriate footwear should be worn. The walk will avoid steps where possible and an accessible route will be available. The route covers approx. 2 miles. Suitable for ages 12 and up.
