Description

FREE Sensory Processing Training for Parents and Carers

This is a single training session for 2 hours for parents and carers of children and young people who experience challenges with sensory processing. Please note, a certificate will not be given as this is an information session for parents and carers and is not suitable for professionals. If you are a professional wanting to attend please email info@seirrah.co.uk and we can send you information on the range of professional courses we facilitate.

The training session will include:

* What is sensory processing?

* How sensory sensitivity, seeking, avoiding and poor registration presents?

* Strategies and activities to support individuals who have sensory processing difficulties.

* Sensory diets and sensory circuits.

* What should a sensory assessment include/look like?

* What experience/training/qualifications should the therapist have when assessing a child’s sensory needs?

* What is a Sensory Profile assessment?

* What is the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) - gold standard assessment?

The training session will be delivered by our Highly Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Practitioner, Joanne Harries.

Please note, children are unable to attend this training session, however, we will be facilitating workshops over the summer on a range of topics for parents to attend with their child. These will be £10 each and will be communicated via our Facebook page.
