We know that the internet can be a scary place and you can feel vulnerable when unsure. As part of our Connect All project we are able to bring you some Scam Awareness sessions.
In this short free session we will give all the tools you need to be scam aware and online savvy.
In this session you will learn about:
How to shop online safety
How to make sure a website is genuine
The latest scams and how to recognise them
How to recognise a fake phone call, email, text or weblink
Cold Calls and how to handle them (i.e. Microsoft, HMRC, NHS, BT, Sky etc).
Remote access and why you may be asked to allow permission for this
Who you can speak to if you're unsure if something is genuine
How to report a scam
The importance of keeping devices updated
Never rush in to a decision, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is
At the end of this session there will be an opportunity for questions
This is a valuable session for all internet users and even better it is free of charge.
