Fresh Minds Education (formerly Dare to Stretch) have been one of the leading providers of Suicide Prevention training in Northern Ireland for the past 10 years reaching over 5000 learners.

This is FREE Suicide Prevention training for anyone living or working in the Northern Locality.

Connections: An Introductions to Suicide Awareness - Introducing suicide awareness through exploring vulnerability, stigma and the contribution which substance misuse can have on physical health and emotions, leading to suicidal ideation. Learn the steps to be an effective helper to someone experiencing suicidal thoughts; includes practice, knowledge of resources and signposting.

Please advise us of any dietary requirements. We will provide tea and coffee, and sandwiches at lunch time.

Please be aware that photographs may be taken at intervals throughout the training and may be used in future promotions by Fresh Minds Education and funding agency (Public Health Agency).

Please note that this training can be upsetting for those bereaved particularly in the past 6 - 12months and longer for some and can sometimes be upsetting or trigger emotions for persons with previous personal or professional experience of emotional distress and suicide. In signing up, please understand this, and you are responsible for your own decision to take part.

What we will expect from you:

♦ Provide us with the information we need in order to confirm your booking

♦ Attend courses punctually and let us know if you are running late or cannot attend

♦ Respect diversity and difference and the personal rights of all our facilitators and participants on your programme or course

♦ Take personal responsibility in contributing to a safe, comfortable and friendly learning environment – including refraining from the use of alcohol, un-prescribed medication or illegal substances, upsetting, threatening and or disruptive behaviour.

♦ Treat public venues with respect and adhere to their policies and procedures

♦Complete relevant monitoring and evaluation forms

♦Agree to photgraphs of sessions to help us capture the workshops we facilitate to promote them in the future.
