This session will bring people together in experiencing the creative world of 'Free' - Toussaint To Move's new immersive, dance-theatre performance that combines the worlds of Reggae Dub Culture & Contemporary Dance to immerse audiences in the unwavering pursuit of freedom. Celebrating Reggae's global injection that has ignited revolutions all over the world since the 1960s.
Gather, skank and lively up yourself, till we are all Free.
To join the session you only have to be 18+, sign-up and wear some comfortable clothes to move in!
This session is an invitation for you to see if you'd like to join the Community Cast for the performance of 'Free' at Leeds Arts School on the 23rd October 2025. You will not have to learn a set piece of dancing, Akeim will support you in connecting to your dancing movement, the music and each other!
If you enjoy the taster session and would like to join the Community Cast you must be available for:
- Co-Creation Session 1: 21st October, 17:30 - 19:30 @ Yorkshire Dance
- Co-Creation Session 2: 22nd October, 17:30 - 19:30 @ Yorkshire Dance
- General Rehearsal: 23rd October, 15:30 - 17:30 @ Leeds School of Arts
- Performance: 23rd October, 19:45 - 21:45 @ Leeds School of Arts
*Community Cast members will receive a £12.60/hour stipend to support their participation in the work.
