Description

A free networking event for voluntary sector staff and volunteers working in the South Somerset area.

We're pleased to welcome the following guest speakers:

Sara Hodges, Somerset Skills and Learning
Somerset Skills and Learning (SS&L) Community Learning have funding from the Education and Skills Funding Agency to engage people who face a disadvantage to learning. Communities that SS&L support may be from more deprived areas, have lower level English and maths skills, or have health and wellbeing needs. Sara will talk about how SS&L's funding can enable community groups, organisations, charities, individuals or small businesses to provide learning opportunities to the community.

Sarah Dummer-Wade, The National Lottery Community Fund
The National Lottery Community Fund has several funding streams available to community groups and organisations. Sarah, Funding Officer for Somerset,talk about about some of these grants – Awards for All, Reaching Communities and Partnerships. She will be discussing what the Fund’s current priorities are and how the heavily over-subscribed applications are assessed, as well as giving details of what the application process now looks like.

Spark Somerset's Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, Matt Day, on the new county wide neighbourhood approach to health and wellbeing.

Andy Ridgwell, Programmes Manager at Somerset Community Foundation, on their latest funding opportunities.

Plus the chance to catch up with Penny Schofield, Spark Somerset's Voluntary Sector Development Advisor for South Somerset.
